Your Peace of Mind is Our Priority

Updated for 2026

At Autorentify, we believe that every rental should come with complete peace of mind. That's why all vehicles on our platform include comprehensive insurance coverage, are maintained to the highest safety standards, and come with 24/7 roadside assistance. Here's everything you need to know about staying protected during your rental.

1. Insurance Coverage

Every vehicle rented through Autorentify comes with insurance coverage. Here's what's typically included:

Comprehensive Insurance (CDW)

All rentals include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) which covers:

  • Accident Damage:  Coverage for damage to the rental vehicle in case of a collision or accident.
  • Theft Protection:  Coverage if the vehicle is stolen during your rental period.
  • Fire Damage:  Protection against fire-related damage to the vehicle.
  • Third-Party Liability:  Coverage for damage caused to other vehicles or property.

What's NOT Covered

Standard insurance typically excludes:

  • Damage to tyres, wheels, and windshield (unless additional coverage purchased)
  • Damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle
  • Personal belongings left in the vehicle
  • Damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Damage from driving on unpaved roads or off-road areas
  • Damage caused by unauthorized drivers
Pro Tip: Many rental partners offer additional coverage options for tyres, windshield, and personal accident insurance. Ask about these when booking for complete protection.

2. Security Deposit

A security deposit is required when you pick up your rental vehicle. Here's what you need to know:
  • Economy Cars:  AED 1,000 – 2,000 deposit
  • Mid-Size & SUVs:  AED 2,000 – 3,000 deposit
  • Luxury Vehicles:  AED 5,000 – 10,000 deposit

The deposit is fully refundable and will be returned within 7-21 business days after you return the vehicle, provided there's no damage or outstanding traffic fines. Some rental partners offer reduced or zero-deposit options – look for the "No Deposit" filter when browsing vehicles.

3. What Happens If There's an Accident?

If you're involved in an accident, follow these steps to ensure you're protected:
  1. Ensure Safety First
Check for injuries and move to a safe location if possible. Call emergency services (999) if anyone is hurt.
  2. Call Dubai Police
For any accident in the UAE, you must report it to the police. Call 901 for non-emergency accidents or 999 for emergencies. A police report is required to process any insurance claim.
  3. Document the Scene
Take photos of all vehicles involved, damage, license plates, and the accident scene from multiple angles.
  4. Contact the Rental Partner
Call the rental company immediately. Their 24/7 support number is on your rental agreement. They will guide you through next steps.
  5. Get the Police Report
Obtain the official police report which will indicate fault. This is essential for insurance claims.
  6. Complete Incident Report
Fill out any incident forms required by the rental partner. Provide all documentation including the police report.
Important: Never leave the accident scene without a police report. Doing so can void your insurance coverage and result in legal consequences.

4. Vehicle Damage Policy

Understanding the damage policy helps avoid surprises when returning your vehicle:

Pre-Rental Inspection

Before driving off, always conduct a thorough inspection with the rental partner:

  • Walk around the vehicle and note all existing scratches, dents, or damage
  • Take photos and videos of the entire vehicle (all four sides, roof, interior)
  • Ensure all pre-existing damage is documented on your rental agreement
  • Check tyre condition, fuel level, and mileage reading

Return Inspection

When returning the vehicle:

  • Return the car with the same fuel level as pickup
  • Be present during the return inspection
  • Get written confirmation that the vehicle was returned in good condition
  • Keep copies of all documents until your deposit is refunded

Damage Charges

If damage is found that wasn't documented at pickup, charges may apply:

  • Minor Scratches:  AED 200 – 500 depending on severity
  • Dents:  AED 500 – 1,500 depending on size and location
  • Windshield Damage:  AED 500 – 2,000 for repair or replacement
  • Major Damage:  Assessed based on repair costs; insurance may cover with applicable excess

5. 24/7 Roadside Assistance

All rentals through Autorentify include 24/7 roadside assistance for your peace of mind:
  • Breakdown Support:  Mechanical assistance for breakdowns anywhere in the UAE
  • Battery Jump-Start:  Help if your battery dies
  • Flat Tyre Change:  Assistance with tyre changes
  • Emergency Fuel:  Fuel delivery if you run out
  • Lockout Service:  Help if you're locked out of the vehicle
  • Towing Service:  Towing to the nearest service center if needed

The roadside assistance number is provided in your rental agreement. Save it in your phone before you start driving.

6. Verified Rental Partners

Your safety starts with who you rent from. All rental partners on Autorentify are:
  • Licensed:  Verified business licenses from UAE authorities
  • Insured:  All vehicles carry valid comprehensive insurance
  • Maintained:  Regular vehicle maintenance and safety inspections
  • Reviewed:  Customer reviews and ratings for transparency
  • Responsive:  Committed to timely customer support

We continuously monitor partner performance and remove any that don't meet our quality standards. Look for the Verified Partner badge when browsing vehicles.

7. Traffic Fines & Salik (Toll)

Understanding traffic fines and toll responsibilities during your rental:
  • Traffic Fines:  You are responsible for any traffic fines incurred during your rental period. Fines will be deducted from your deposit along with an administrative fee (typically AED 20-50 per fine).
  • Salik Tolls:  Dubai's road toll system charges AED 4 per gate crossing. These charges are billed separately or deducted from your deposit at the end of the rental period.
  • Parking Fines:  Ensure you park in designated areas and pay for parking where required. Parking fines are your responsibility.
Tip: Download the Dubai Police app or RTA Dubai app to check for any fines during your rental and pay them promptly to avoid additional penalties.

8. Safe Driving Tips in the UAE

Stay safe on UAE roads with these important tips:
  • Seatbelts:  Mandatory for all passengers. Fines apply for non-compliance.
  • Speed Limits:  Strictly enforced via radar. Urban areas typically 60-80 km/h, highways up to 120-140 km/h.
  • Mobile Phones:  Using a phone while driving is illegal. Use hands-free only.
  • Alcohol:  Zero tolerance policy. Any alcohol in your system while driving is a criminal offense.
  • Right-Hand Traffic:  UAE drives on the right side of the road.
  • Roundabouts:  Give way to traffic already in the roundabout.

Yes, comprehensive insurance is included with all rentals on Autorentify. This covers damage to the vehicle, third-party liability, and theft protection. The insurance includes a standard excess (deductible) of AED 1,000-3,000 depending on vehicle type - this is the maximum you'd pay in case of an accident. You can reduce the excess to zero by purchasing additional coverage (CDW - Collision Damage Waiver) for AED 50-100 per day. Personal accident insurance for occupants is also available as an optional add-on.

Yes, Autorentify is a trusted car rental platform in Dubai. All rental partners are verified and licensed by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). We conduct background checks on all partners and require them to maintain proper insurance, vehicle registration, and safety standards. Every rental includes comprehensive insurance, 24/7 roadside assistance, and customer support. We use secure payment processing (PCI DSS certified), protect your personal data with encryption, and have a dispute resolution process. With thousands of successful rentals and verified customer reviews, Autorentify is a safe choice for car rental in Dubai.

Most rentals on Autorentify include unlimited mileage, allowing you to drive as much as you need without extra charges. Some economy and budget vehicles may have a daily mileage limit of 200-300 km per day, with additional kilometers charged at AED 0.50-1.00 per km. Monthly rentals typically include 3,000-5,000 km per month. The mileage policy is clearly displayed on each vehicle listing. If you plan to drive extensively (road trips to other emirates or Oman), confirm unlimited mileage when booking.

If your rental car breaks down: 1) Pull over safely and turn on hazard lights, 2) Call the rental partner's 24/7 emergency number (provided in your booking confirmation), 3) Alternatively, call Autorentify support for assistance, 4) A replacement vehicle will be arranged within 2-4 hours in Dubai, 5) Roadside assistance is available for minor issues (flat tire, dead battery, lockout), 6) You won't be charged for breakdown time or replacement vehicle. Do not attempt to repair the car yourself or have it towed without approval from the rental partner, as this may void insurance coverage.

Taking rental cars outside the UAE requires special permission. Oman: Most rental partners allow travel to Oman with advance notice and additional insurance (AED 50-100 per day). You'll need to purchase Oman insurance at the border. Saudi Arabia: Requires special permission, cross-border insurance (AED 100-200/day), and may not be available for all vehicles. Other GCC countries: Generally allowed with advance permission and additional insurance. Always inform the rental partner at least 48 hours before planned cross-border travel. Some vehicle types (luxury cars, sports cars) may not be permitted to leave the UAE.

In case of an accident: 1) Ensure everyone's safety and call police (999) if there are injuries, 2) Do not move the vehicles until police arrive (required by UAE law), 3) Take photos of damage, license plates, and the scene, 4) Obtain a police report - required for all accidents in Dubai, 5) Contact the rental partner and Autorentify immediately, 6) Exchange information with other parties involved, 7) Fill out the insurance claim form. Your comprehensive insurance will cover damages minus the excess (AED 1,000-3,000). Never admit fault or sign documents you don't understand. Autorentify support is available 24/7 to guide you through the process.

Most rentals on Autorentify follow a 'full-to-full' fuel policy: you receive the car with a full tank and must return it with a full tank. If you return the car without filling it up, you'll be charged for the missing fuel plus a refueling service fee (typically AED 50-100 plus AED 5-6 per liter). Some rental partners offer a 'pre-purchase fuel' option where you buy a full tank at competitive rates and can return the car empty - convenient but you pay for unused fuel. The fuel policy is clearly stated on each vehicle listing.

As the driver, you are responsible for all traffic fines incurred during your rental period. Fines are detected through Dubai's automated Salik toll system and traffic cameras. How it works: 1) Rental partner receives fine notification (usually 1-4 weeks after the violation), 2) You're notified via email with fine details and amount, 3) Fine amount plus administrative fee (AED 20-50) is charged to your card, 4) You can contest fines through Dubai Police if you believe they're incorrect. Common fines include: speeding (AED 300-3,000), illegal parking (AED 200-500), red light violation (AED 1,000), and phone use while driving (AED 400-800). Check the Salik balance and pay toll fees to avoid fines.

Yes, you can add additional drivers to your rental. The first additional driver is usually free. Each additional driver after the first costs AED 10-15 per day or AED 200-300 per month. All additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the main driver: valid license, minimum age (21 or 25 depending on vehicle), and proper documentation. Additional drivers must be present at pickup to have their license verified and to sign the rental agreement. You can add drivers at the time of booking or during pickup (subject to availability).

Yes, all vehicles on Autorentify are required to have valid comprehensive insurance as mandated by UAE law. Every rental includes: Third-party liability insurance (covers damage to others), comprehensive vehicle insurance (covers damage to the rental car), theft protection, and 24/7 roadside assistance. The insurance certificate is provided with the vehicle. Standard excess (your maximum liability) is AED 1,000-3,000 depending on vehicle type. You can reduce or eliminate the excess with additional coverage (CDW). We verify insurance validity for all rental partners monthly, and any partner found operating without proper insurance is immediately suspended.
