Your Peace of Mind is Our Priority
Updated for 2026
At Autorentify, we believe that every rental should come with complete peace of mind. That's why all vehicles on our platform include comprehensive insurance coverage, are maintained to the highest safety standards, and come with 24/7 roadside assistance. Here's everything you need to know about staying protected during your rental.
1. Insurance Coverage
Comprehensive Insurance (CDW)
All rentals include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) which covers:
- Accident Damage: Coverage for damage to the rental vehicle in case of a collision or accident.
- Theft Protection: Coverage if the vehicle is stolen during your rental period.
- Fire Damage: Protection against fire-related damage to the vehicle.
- Third-Party Liability: Coverage for damage caused to other vehicles or property.
What's NOT Covered
Standard insurance typically excludes:
- Damage to tyres, wheels, and windshield (unless additional coverage purchased)
- Damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle
- Personal belongings left in the vehicle
- Damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Damage from driving on unpaved roads or off-road areas
- Damage caused by unauthorized drivers
2. Security Deposit
- Economy Cars: AED 1,000 – 2,000 deposit
- Mid-Size & SUVs: AED 2,000 – 3,000 deposit
- Luxury Vehicles: AED 5,000 – 10,000 deposit
The deposit is fully refundable and will be returned within 7-21 business days after you return the vehicle, provided there's no damage or outstanding traffic fines. Some rental partners offer reduced or zero-deposit options – look for the "No Deposit" filter when browsing vehicles.
3. What Happens If There's an Accident?
-
Ensure Safety First
Check for injuries and move to a safe location if possible. Call emergency services (999) if anyone is hurt. -
Call Dubai Police
For any accident in the UAE, you must report it to the police. Call 901 for non-emergency accidents or 999 for emergencies. A police report is required to process any insurance claim. -
Document the Scene
Take photos of all vehicles involved, damage, license plates, and the accident scene from multiple angles. -
Contact the Rental Partner
Call the rental company immediately. Their 24/7 support number is on your rental agreement. They will guide you through next steps. -
Get the Police Report
Obtain the official police report which will indicate fault. This is essential for insurance claims. -
Complete Incident Report
Fill out any incident forms required by the rental partner. Provide all documentation including the police report.
4. Vehicle Damage Policy
Pre-Rental Inspection
Before driving off, always conduct a thorough inspection with the rental partner:
- Walk around the vehicle and note all existing scratches, dents, or damage
- Take photos and videos of the entire vehicle (all four sides, roof, interior)
- Ensure all pre-existing damage is documented on your rental agreement
- Check tyre condition, fuel level, and mileage reading
Return Inspection
When returning the vehicle:
- Return the car with the same fuel level as pickup
- Be present during the return inspection
- Get written confirmation that the vehicle was returned in good condition
- Keep copies of all documents until your deposit is refunded

8. Safe Driving Tips in the UAE
